Hello,
My name is [INSERT NAME]. I am a resident of [CITY/STATE]. I am emailing you to request community townhalls across the nation in regards to current events and the eruption of protests in our country. My hope is that by providing the opportunity for communities to play an active role in the conversation for change against injustice, we may begin to see vast changes to the way our law enforcement is addressing racial discrimination and police brutality. I would like to see improved training that focuses on being trauma informed and chooses de-escalation over force with effective results. I would like to see how our law enforcement is promoting racial diversity in the workspace, positive relationships with minority youth as part of their training, and improving the working conditions of our law enforcement that will promote better outcomes for all.
After further research, I found that our state does not have certain policies in place within each city that have significantly helped decrease police killings. I would like to request an opportunity for our community to have a say in how we can improve the welfare of our community and bring social justice to those have been killed.
I would like a response to understand what our local law enforcement is doing to address these issues. I look forward to the town halls.Thank you,
